POSITION: Sr. Enterprise Risk Manager

SUPERVISOR: Assistant Vice President/Sr. Director of Enterprise Risk

WORK LOCATION: Hybrid


WORK SCHEDULE: Standard business hours, Monday through Friday, with a willingness to monitor email and other systems during nonbusiness hours in case of a critical matter and able for additional hours that may be occasionally required in order to meet time- sensitive deliverables and deadlines.

Required Skills:

• Significant understanding of the principles of risk management and a strong fluency with rules, regulations, and regulatory guidance impacting prepaid cards and the payment industry.
• Strong understanding of FFIEC guidance and Risk Categories required to support risk governance functions.
• Ability to display good judgment as well as resourcefulness, tact and diplomacy.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task while managing multiple accounts and related tasks.
• Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables – ensure the ability to address remediation quickly and effectively.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Motivated, quick learner with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to evaluate and mitigate inherent risks and how it contributes to the organization’s overall risk management system.
• Communicate internally to inform and support Risk Management governance.
• Ability to understand risk data and liaise with internal groups.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
Education/Experience:
• Three years of at least manager-level experience, with very recent experience in payments industry
• Five to eight years of financial industry experience in risk, operations or compliance.

• Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, finance, management, or related field.

Key Responsibilities Include:
• Manage the Risk analysts and complete performance assessments and coaching on processes.
• Manage training of new risk team members.
• Lead team meetings with risk staff.
• Assist with escalation items from risk analysts and internal business groups relating to risk.
• Manage risk staff workload.
• Assist with creation of KPIs for risk staff to be used in performance evaluations.
• Oversee the third party risk schedule to ensure timely reviews are completed.
• Oversee the activities that are necessary to provide effective oversight to the Bank’s Third Party relationships including due diligence, annual and semi-annual reviews, issue tracking and remediation.
• Oversee the risk profiles of all Mission Critical Third Parties and, based upon information gleaned from the TPRMP, make recommendations for modifying assigned risk ratings.
• Ensure that proper documentation for new and existing third party relationships are properly completed and retained. This includes, but is not limited to, risk assessment forms, contracts, insurance documentation, etc.
• Assist with updating the Central Payments Third Party Risk Management Policy and Enterprise Risk Management Policy (including making recommendations for changes and improvements).
• Maintain Enterprise Risk Management tools and functions (policies, control documentation, assessments, metric reporting) and evaluating and assessing a set of risk metrics and reports.
• Creation and approval of desktop procedures for risk processes.
• Evaluate reports to be presented to executive management/committees on risk profiles of programs, products and platforms to ensure adequately prepared.
• Create and deliver risk reporting presentation and activities of the Enterprise Risk Management program to management and committees and supports further risk reporting requests made by CRO.
• Collaboratively participate in, and contribute to, any committee that you are assigned to for the purpose risk governance and third party oversight.
• Participates in executive leadership meetings to analyze documentation and processes to ensure risks and control points are properly addressed.
• Look for ways to improve the current processes and share best practices with executive leadership.
• Elevate new risk tools available and provide assessment to Executive Management as needed.
• When deemed necessary, perform site visits to third party service providers to ensure that their operations are meeting contractual obligations and the Bank’s expectations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
